Jessica Froud-Powell is a physiotherapist with 15 years’ experience of working with children, young people and adults with disability. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. She graduated with a BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy from Cardiff University in 2006. She is currently working on an MSc in Advanced Practice, in Cardiff University, and intends to graduate in 2022.
Jessica Froud-Powell prepares medico-legal reports for Wendy Murphy Associates. She provides reports on children and adults with neurological conditions including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke and developmental delay. She is currently employed by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB), based at Serennu Children’s Centre. She is a Clinical Specialist in Paediatric Neurodisability. She works closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team to contribute to a cohesive management approach in order to meet the needs of children and young adults with complex disability. Jessica Froud-Powell has undertaken a number of post-graduate courses, including introduction to the Bobath approach, serial casting, Ponseti regime for management of congenital talipes, and post selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) physiotherapy management. She has also completed the four-day course in Posture Management for Children and Adults with Complex Disability. She has attended training delivered by the Medico-legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP) on expert witness report writing, giving evidence in court and preparation of joint statement reports. Jessica Froud-Powell has been a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy since 2006. She is also a member of the MLACP and the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists (APCP). She regularly delivers training to the paediatric physiotherapy department at her employing health board. She contributes to core training for colleagues and students. Jessica Froud-Powell has also been invited to contribute to the undergraduate physiotherapy programme at Cardiff University. |
