Kate is a state registered physiotherapist, she has a BSc in physiotherapy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management of Complex Disability. She is a member of the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapist, Association of Chartered Physiotherapists for People with Learning Difficulties and the Aquatic Therapy Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Since qualifying in 1993 Kate has worked in a variety of settings. This has included working on a project in South India to develop a transdisciplinary service for children and adults with neurological disability from 1999 to 2004. Since returning to the UK, she has worked in the NHS with children and adults with complex neurological disability in the community, as well as working as the lead physiotherapist at a college for young adults with complex disability. She has worked alongside a rehabilitation consultant in a botulinum toxin clinic, and regularly attends orthotic clinics and wheelchair assessments for children and young people with complex neurological disability. Kate has been preparing expert witness reports since 2013 relating to the physiotherapy needs to children and adults with neurological disability, including cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, Erbs palsy, minimally conscious patients and wrongful birth claims. She is instructed equally by both claimant and defendant and completes joint statements. |
